Toddler Childcare Nursery in Glen Parva

Play Days Academy Glen Parva provides day childcare Nursery services for babies from birth to 2 years, toddlers from 2 to 3 years and pre-school from 3 to 5 years. We offer personalised care and learning opportunities according to the child’s requirements and interests. Our nursery sessions cater to various child care requirements and we have spacious playrooms and comfortable sleep pods required to meet personal and group needs.

Toddler Room

The toddler room is an active, but welcoming environment for children aged 2-3 years. Children explore using their senses, actively taking part in whole body activities, using messy play, food play, natural resources & music. Children are encouraged to try new experiences with lots of adult encouragement, going out daily for walks in the local environment. Whether they’re rolling down hills, visiting the cows and horses, feeding the chickens from their window or shopping for their 2 goldfish Bangers & Mash. The toddler room offers lots of opportunities to enhance speech and language through 1-1 or fun group activities each day, helping the children to develop their vocabulary while having fun and following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. Staff ratio is 1 adult to 4 children. Toddlers are starting to become more independent, toilet training and learning how to take risks safely while playing outside to be able to keep themselves safe.

Preparing for school

Our nursery classes are designed to prepare children for a smooth transition into the school environment. We arrange sessions that encourage both social and educational development. An array of indoor and outdoor play equipment, which are available to the children on a ‘self-select’ basis, are used to encourage children to develop ‘schematic play’. This form of learning encourages children to explore the world within a safe and secure environment and also come up with their own theories about how things work and how various factors are related to each other.

Learning for ages 0 to 5 years

We encourage learning and development of children aged 0 to 3 and 3 to 5 years by following a cyclical pattern of Observe, Plan, Do and Review. They are provided learning under 7 prime areas:

•Communication and language

•Physical development

•Personal and social development

•Literacy

•Mathematics

•Understanding of the world

•Expressive arts and design

We also incorporate individual short-term learning plans as we believe that every child is unique and has to follow their own learning journey.

Nursery Reviews

This is an amazing nursery.after getting off to a bad start with another nursery we were very hesitant about letting him try another.but i can't praise everyone at playdats academy enough for eveything they have done to settle our son in.he loves it here and even with his lack of communication skills they have been fabulous.he now knows some makaton (we are also learning with him).staff are amazing, friendly, patient and so nurturing to the children.and the revamp looks amazing with such a home from home feel. this nursery definatly puts the childrens needs and individuality as their first priority.

A lovely fresh and bright new nursery set on the edge of the Leicestershire countryside. The children are stimulated and educated through play and the outdoors whatever the weather. It has a lovely "home from home" feel, with friendly staff who treasure your little one as much as you do.

I wasnt sure how my "clingy" 1 year old would adapt to nursery but now she waves us off and cant wait to go! Everyone is so understanding of all the children and have really bought my girl out of her shell. She loves mixing with other children now, Although she doesn't need to be in nursery i am so glad i decided to let her as she seems to be learning a lot more and becoming very talkative!

Absolutely fantastic nursery, my 4 year old son loves it here. Management and Staff are amazing with him (he has communication problems and awaiting results of assessments) . Also after extensive revamp the place looks so homely, fresh, clean and inviting....
