Our Open-door policy
We operate an open-door policy and parents are positively encouraged to come in and talk to the staff, to see how the nursery operates. Parents are always welcome, to ensure we have a staff member to host your visit, lunchtimes visits between 11.45-1 pm may provide limited time to answer all of your questions fully, & we want to make sure you leave your visit with all your questions covered. Our invested staff team will provide a daily report to parents regarding their child’s nursery day, where possible we try to give verbal feedback to parents, however session end times are often busy & so we provide an on-line Care Diary, via our Nursery in a Box, parent admin portal. This provides a two way communication tool allowing parents to update us on how their child has been at home. Our care diaries are updated daily for babies & toddlers; including key information such as, the number and length of naps, the amount of food eaten, number and details of nappy changes, activities to do at home and other essential information. In readiness for transition to school our older pre-school children are given brief verbal feedback of their nursery day. Including notification of key information; accidents, incidents, meals- including how much has been eaten.
Parents are invited and encouraged to speak with their child’s key person at any time and appointments can be made, at your request, for time with your child’s key person to discuss your child’s progress or any other issues. Regular parent catch up’s are scheduled across the nursery year, especially during transition times such as moving from room to room, & finally on to school.
Parental involvement in Children’s Growth
