Our Policies & Procedures

Keeping Your Child Safe, Happy & Supported

At Play Days Academy, the safety, wellbeing and development of every child is at the heart of everything we do.

Our policies and procedures provide a clear framework for our team and help us maintain a safe, caring, inclusive and stimulating environment where every child can learn, play and thrive.

We regularly review our policies to ensure they remain up to date and reflect current UK guidance and best practice.

Our Key Policies Include

Safeguarding & Child Protection
We are committed to protecting children from harm and promoting their welfare. Our team understands their responsibilities and follows robust safeguarding procedures.

Health & Safety
We maintain a safe environment for children, families and staff through regular risk assessments, checks and clear safety procedures.

Health, Illness & Medication
We have procedures in place to manage illness, allergies, accidents and the safe administration of medication, helping to protect the health and wellbeing of all children.

Equality, Inclusion & Diversity
Every child and family is valued and respected at Play Days Academy. We celebrate individuality and aim to ensure that every child has equal opportunities to participate, learn and develop.

Positive Behaviour
We use positive and age-appropriate approaches to help children understand their emotions, develop relationships and learn how to manage their behaviour.

Settling-In
Starting nursery is a big step for children and families. We work closely with parents and carers to make the settling-in process as comfortable and positive as possible.

Food, Nutrition & Allergies
We promote healthy eating and take dietary requirements, allergies and individual needs seriously, with clear procedures in place to help keep children safe.

Collection & Safe Handover
We have clear procedures to ensure children are only collected by parents, carers or authorised individuals and that children remain safe at all times.

Emergency Procedures
Our team follows established procedures for emergencies and ensures that children are supported and kept safe should an unexpected situation arise.

Privacy & Data Protection
We respect the privacy of children and families and handle personal information responsibly and in accordance with applicable UK data protection requirements

Working in Partnership with Parents
We believe that strong relationships with families help children thrive. We encourage open communication and work together with parents and carers to support each child’s individual needs and development.

Safer Sleep
We follow safe and age-appropriate sleep practices to help ensure babies and young children are cared for safely during sleep and rest times. Individual sleep routines and needs are discussed with parents and carers.

SEND – Special Educational Needs & Disabilities
We are committed to providing an inclusive environment where children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are supported to reach their full potential. We work closely with parents, carers and relevant professionals to understand each child’s individual needs and provide appropriate support.

Complaints & Feedback
We value the views of our parents and carers and encourage open and honest communication. If you have a concern or complaint, we have a clear procedure in place to ensure that your concerns are listened to, investigated and responded to fairly and appropriately.  We see complaints and feedback as an opportunity to reflect, improve our practice and continue providing the best possible care and education for children.

Our Commitment

At Play Days Academy, policies are more than just documents — they help guide the way we care for, support and educate children every day.

If you would like to view one of our policies or have any questions about our procedures, please speak to a member of our team.

Your child’s safety, happiness and wellbeing will always be our priority.
