Welcome to Play Days Academy
Starting nursery is an exciting milestone for children and families, and we understand that it can also bring lots of questions. Our Welcome Pack has been designed to provide you with all the essential information you need before your child starts with us, helping you and your child feel confident, comfortable and prepared.
We have an open door policy so no need to book to come and view the setting, please feel free to pop by at your earliest convenience and a member of our Academy team will be happy to help.
What’s Included in Your Welcome Pack?
Your Welcome Pack contains important information about our nursery, our approach to early years education and how we work in partnership with families.
You will find information about:
- Our nursery – who we are, our values and what you can expect from us.
- Settling in – how we support children as they become familiar with their new environment, practitioners and routines.
- A typical day – an overview of our daily routines, activities, meals, outdoor play and learning opportunities.
- Communication with families – how we keep you informed about your child’s experiences, development and progress, we use an app called parent admin.
- Your child’s learning and development – information about how we support children to learn through play and follow their individual interests and needs.
- Food and mealtimes – details about our menus, healthy eating and how we manage allergies and dietary requirements.
- Important contacts – useful nursery contact details and who to speak to if you have a question or concern.
Working Together
We believe that the strongest relationships are built through partnership with parents and carers. You know your child best, and we value the information, knowledge and experiences you share with us.
Before your child starts at our setting we will invite you in for a care plan and settling in sessions free of charge, this is so you can talk to us about your child’s routines, interests, likes and dislikes, comforters, experiences and anything else you feel would help us get to know them.
